Warriors in Nature Projects mission is to get veterans and their family outdoors, and unplugged from the chaos of life after service.

Warriors in Nature Project brings veterans together through adventurous outdoor events such as: hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, caving, fishing, bushcraft, and more, designed to build community, self-exploration, and lasting connection across 24 Indiana state parks.
Our VSPPP (Veteran State Park Pass Project) provides any Indiana-resident veteran who presents a redacted DD214 or veteran ID a free Indiana State Park Pass valid through Jan 1, 2027; we’ve already given out 75+ passes and are aiming to place 250 in veterans’ hands by the end of 2026.
Through the Warriors Legacy Program—“Carrying Legacies Forward—One Adventure at a Time” donated kayaks, paddleboards, canoes and the like are lovingly restored into living memorials that honor loved ones while helping veterans heal on the water. We also run the WIN Veteran Networking Portal to connect vets with veteran-supportive businesses and discounts that directly fund our outdoor healing work
Come join the adventure.

Every member of our board is a veteran, and that shared service shapes our vision and values. Because we’ve walked the same paths, we know how vital purpose, connection, and meaningful work are to a healthy transition, so we build community by creating opportunities for veterans and supporters to give back, grow, and belong.
Looking ahead, we aim to be the backbone of Service-to-Civilian transitions, creating welcoming spaces where veterans can rediscover purpose through service and where service members leaving the military can plug into a nationwide network of peers, mentors, and opportunities. In short, Warriors in Nature Project exists to turn a life of service into a lifetime of community, purpose, and possibility wherever veterans go.
